Shutdown Ovi line, and we have a chance. Cant let the other teams best player beat you. Have to play disciplined as well; guys like Ovi and Backstrom only need but so many chances on the PP to make an impact in the game.

Our only focus right now is this game. 1 at a time.

I also like the AndyMac scratching. I was at the Ottawa game and he was easily the worst of our defensemen. His gap control is getting better, I will say.

Does anyone else find it troubling that we have to move out MacDonald because he can't handle some of the bigger teams?

Not really. MDZ is "weaker" if that's what you mean. He did not play well against Ottawa. He deserves to sit a few games.

Did anyone else hate Coliacavo when he played? I didn't. I thought he played ok for stepping right onto a team with no NHL training camp this September. I'd like to see him get some more games in. He's been practicing with the team enough now that he should be a bit better acclimated with some of the guys and the system as a whole.

I'd just like to see some one traded for prospects/pick personally.

Bill's been pretty much saying that since Day 1 with AMac.

Simmonds is streaky so here's hoping Tuesday's performance is the beginning of an upward trend for him.
Jake has been relatively quiet on the score sheet so no better night than tonight to get the Giroux/Voracek scoring machine going.
Washington wasn't really tested last night in T.O. and I'd like to think they're due for a loss.

If all else fails, just start a brawl and beat the tar out of Holtby. (again)

LETS GO FLYERS!

Yah but I think Del Zotto still plays with a little more edge. I never see MacDonald really getting in there at all.

It's coming, and the returns will be very lackluster. But something is better than nothing. Just remember, patience is a virtue. Hextall just needs time.

I did as well. I don't see many differences in Coliacavo and AndyMacs game. AndyMac may block more shots, but Coliacavo has a bit more size. Ideally, I'd prefer both where in over one of Grossman or Schenn.

Zero need to dress Grossman and Schenn on one blue-line in todays NHL, but that's just my opinion.

Is MacDonald really a healthy scratch??? He's played as many (or more) bad games with the Flyers than he has good now. The sample size on re-signing him last year was a bit low for the contract and now there's another sample size getting even higher.

Question philly fans. This is just something I've been thinking about.
would you want Kessel in a flyers jersey?
Would you want another 8 million dollar player on the roster knowing the future. Bad contracts, upcoming contract extensiono etc.
What would it take to make that trade.
Kessel Giroux voracek seems like almost dream team ish.

I know a lot of people scoffed at Zac Rinaldo's last interview but I would very much appreciate if the boys could implement his new "kick a$$" strategy....teams that in fact kick ass rarely lose games

You'd have to give up too much right now. I love Kessel but with this rebuilding stage the Flyers are in, it wouldn't make sense to give up their best assets for a player like Phil the Thrill.

I could think of many players I would rather see in a flyers jersey....but Kessel playing with an elite centre would likely bring out the best in him.

The line would be pretty sweet 66% of the time when all three players were 'on', but I would fear Kessel's two weeks here, two weeks there schedule may rub off on some of the lesser passionate players we already seem to be carrying.

No, because MacDonald is what he is. He's nothing special, yet another depth defenseman, who slots between 4-7 on a good team.

I don't feel he's played particularly well over the past month or so, despite having a good game vs Ottawa. But I don't see a huge drop off in swapping Schenn in for him.

In fact, Berube seems to now be doing what I've wanted him to do for the last year or so, and more equally distribute the scratchings. There's not one guy on this roster that has played well enough, IMO, to be immune from an occasional night off.

I just don't want to see guys benched for 9 or 10 games in a row, either.

Despite the reasoning behind the healthy scratch, it does seem like it's just AMac's turn, doesn't it?
